Job SummaryThe IT Asset Technician I works with and supports the IT Asset Management Program for the lifecycle of all IT software and hardware assets.
Reports to: Director, Infrastructure
Job Specific Responsibilities
Daily assignments may include but are not limited to:
- Receive, sort, and inventory all incoming assets
- Update equipment in the CMDB for tickets; tag them for disbursements to the appropriate team
- Maintain the organization of the onsite and offsite storage facilities and perform scheduled inventory
- Track all incoming orders and follow up with vendors on backorders to ensure equipment arriving during the use horizon
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED (Bachelor’s degree highly recommended).
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent customer service skills
- Knowledge of ITIL processes and how Incident, Problem, Change and Request Fulfillment impact IT assets.
- Efficient phone, listening, and typing skills
Interaction with Other Departments and Other Relationships
The incumbent in this role will work closely with internal departments such as Purchasing and Supply chain, and external vendors to ensure procurement process and issue resolution. This position also works with the IT Infrastructure Administrative team for contract management in CMDB
Physical Capabilities
Ability to lift equipment that should not exceed 75 lbs. Ability to walk to all areas of the hospital and TTUHSC areas. Ability to drive to all remote locations as required.
