Job SummaryThe Radiology Department Manager will oversee the daily operations of the Radiology department across multiple campuses, ensuring smooth workflow, high-quality imaging services, and excellent patient care.

Job Specific Responsibilities
Daily assignments may include but are not limited to:
- Participate in staffing related responsibilities that include but are not limited to: hiring, maintaining competency profiles for assigned staff, training coaching, performance management, employee engagement, and disciplinary actions up to and including terminations
- Work close with senior department leaders continuously align revisions of departmental policies and procedures with national standards
- Ensure effective collaboration and communication between Radiology department, Texas Tech Health Sciences Center, and UMC
- Provide leadership to technologists on evening and weekend shifts ensuring optimal patient care and staff support
- Work closely with the Director and lead technologists to assess and optimize workflow and improve efficiency, communication, and employee satisfaction
- Oversee and maintain the quality control program to evaluate quality of diagnostic exams and imaging; Review and report turnaround and read times as required by Radiology Administration, taking ownership of actions to resolve any identified issues
- Manage departmental expenses and ensure operations are cost effective
- Coordinate purchasing of contrast and other specialized materials for radiology procedures
- Manage equipment inventory; Coordinate routine maintenance and repairs; Ensure supplies are adequately ordered and stocked
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule accepting on call shifts on a rotational basis

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Radiologic Technology, Healthcare Administration, or related field
- 5 years of experience in Radiology
- 2 years in a leadership role leading people and processes
Required Licensures/Certifications/Registrations
- Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to manage diverse staff and lead engagement and positive morale
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Advanced knowledge of Radiology equipment, diagnostic procedures, and regulatory standards
Interaction with Other Departments and Other Relationships
The Radiology Department Manager is an essential part of the Radiology leadership team working to ensure the department provides high quality, timely, and patient focused imaging services while also maintaining a positive work environment for employees. This position will have extensive interaction with all Hospital Units and Floors, as well as TTUHSC Clinics and other Physician Clinics within and outside of the Lubbock Community
Physical Capabilities
Work requires frequent walking, standing, lifting, and transporting patients, equipment and/or supplies. Should be able to lift 50 pounds. Must be emotionally and physically fit
Environmental/Working Conditions
This position requires frequent work near sources of radiation and in low light conditions in order to see the centering lights. Fast paced environment with occasional to frequent high pressure or emergent situations. This position is subject to inside environmental conditions. Occupational risk and exposure to bodily fluids, infectious specimens, communicable diseases, ionizing radiation, blood borne pathogens and other conditions common to a Hospital/Medical environment.
