Job Description:
Provides implementation and break/fix support for the organization’s Desktop computing environment. This includes the installation of PC software, printers, various peripherals, and desktops while ensuring connectivity to LAN and WAN environments. Answers users' questions regarding desktop and LAN connectivity issues. Responds to users needs via the Help Desk trouble ticket methodology. Provides preventive maintenance services and ensures technical documentation such as ticket logs, maintenance logs, troubleshooting tips knowledge base, are updated on a timely basis. Evaluate the availability of patches and updates to existing software/hardware and coordinate with the Network Services Supervisor and Network and Telecommunications Manager the implementation of such.
Required Skills:
- Skilled in based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include, but are not limited to, operating equipment/tools used in computer networking; planning and managing projects, preparing and maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Extensive knowledge in the areas of hardware/software installation and upgrading Microsoft operating system environments is required.
- Strong oral communications skills are necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers.
- Knowledge of hardware and software requirements.
- Ability to operate hand and power equipment, including but not limited to, power screwdrivers, drills, vacuum cleaners, soldering irons and computer equipment in a safe manner and in accordance with department and Hospital Safety procedures.
- Good interpersonal skills and abilities.
- Extensive computer experience, both in hardware and software.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Sound judgment in problem-solving.
- Capable of handling change and stressful situations.
- Comfortable with conflict resolution and negotiation.
- Knowledge of electronics and computer equipment maintenance.

Work Experience:
Two years of experience in desktop/peripheral devices, installation/deployment and support.
License/Registration/Certification
A certification preferred.
Education and Training:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
