What we are looking for :
A well-rounded Senior Accountant with experience in balance sheet reconciliations, audit support, data analysis, financial reporting, and budget preparation. This individual should have great customer service skills, advanced excel capabilities, a desire to be a part of a positive minded cohesive team, and excellent problem-solving skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following and other duties which may be assigned :
- Perform and organize monthly closing procedures
- Assist with financial statement and management report preparation and distribution
- Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations to include process analysis and determination of any necessary adjusting journal entries
- Journal entries, allocation entries, prepaid account amortization entries as assigned
- Cash management functions as assigned
- Prepare monthly grant billings and all related reports
- Ensure compliance with grant agreements and related regulations
- Support program departments with grant budget development and monitoring
- Prepare year-end reconciliations, annual audit schedules, and compile audit support documentation
- Assist with the preparation of the Form 990 (Return for Organization Exempt from Income Tax)
- Provide general accounting assistance as needed and participate in special projects
- Cultivate and maintain strong, positive, collaborative and effective working relationships with all internal and external customers
EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE
Degree in Accounting or Accounting related field, with a minimum five (5) years direct accounting work with substantial knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and financial reporting. CPA or CPA candidate a plus.
