Position Overview:
Del Medical is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to operate our Haas VF2 and Haas VF4 CNC Vertical Machining Centers. In this role, you will be responsible for producing high-precision components used in our medical equipment manufacturing. You will work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure the accuracy, quality, and efficiency of machined parts, adhering to the high standards that define Del Medical's products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, and adjust Haas VF2 and Haas VF4 CNC machines to machine precision parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Program or modify existing CNC programs (G-code) to optimize machining processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Interpret blueprints, CAD models, and work orders to determine the appropriate tooling, cutting speeds, and machining techniques.
- Perform quality checks throughout the production process using precision instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to ensure all parts meet tight tolerances and company quality standards.
- Monitor machine operations and make necessary adjustments to correct any deviations from specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with machinery or parts to minimize downtime and ensure continuous production.
- Maintain detailed documentation of machine setups, operations, and adjustments for future reference.
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines and report any major maintenance needs to the appropriate department.
- Adhere to all safety standards and ensure the workspace is clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to improve processes, reduce waste, and increase efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience operating Haas VF2 and Haas VF4 CNC machining centers in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming (G-code) and experience with CAM software (e.g., Mastercam) is highly preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD files.
- Experience working with metal materials commonly used in medical equipment manufacturing, ensuring parts meet high precision and quality standards.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMMs).
- Mechanical aptitude with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles is an advantage.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and handle materials up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery noise.
