What You Will Be Doing
As Regional Compensation & Benefits Manager - Americas you steer the design, development and implementation of effective and compliant compensation and employee benefit programs across the region, in alignment with Umicore's and the overall HR strategy. While the focus will be on the managerial population, depending the country, local needs and type of reward, it can be extended to the other employee categories also in close collaboration with the people business partners and site HR.

What You Will Be Doing
As Regional Compensation & Benefits Manager - Americas you steer the design, development and implementation of effective and compliant compensation and employee benefit programs across the region, in alignment with Umicore's and the overall HR strategy. Responsibilities
C&B design and implementation:
- Operate as the Regional manager in charge of building and delivering strong, effective and compliant compensation and benefits programs, supporting the company’s business needs.
- Craft effective and efficient policies and programs, steering continuous improvements and innovative approaches in the field of reward and employee recognition.
- Identify areas for process improvements. Puting plans in place to move towards efficiency and effectiveness, ensuring the team and the services are seen as professional, credible and trusted. Build strong interfaces with the HR Operations team.
- Steer system requirements and/or enhancements needed to support the successful design and implementation of the C&B programs, processes and tools, in collaboration with the relevant colleagues
- Be responsible for the adherence to and keeping up to date on changing regulations and compliance requirements. Keep track of market trends.
- Be a trusted partner within the C&B CoE team, driving all initiatives in alignment with the other C&B CoE colleagues, sharing efforts and providing backup as needed.
- Support our talent footprint by driving C&B initiatives to support attracting, retaining and engaging talent. Partner closely with our business leaders and the broader HR team to understand the business and talent needs, and concerns.
- Provide strong C&B guidance to the colleagues of talent management, the hiring managers and people business partners prior to hiring and throughout the talent acquisition and talent development flow. Steer competitive offers and pay levels for new hires, promotions, etc… while safeguarding internal fairness.
- Accountable for appropriate annual market pay guidelines and salary increase budgets by reviewing relevant compensation survey and market trends. Ensure effective yearly C&B processes within the region such as variable compensation, merit review, etc…
- Actively build an internal network and partnerships across businesses and within the region.
- Steer the USA and Canada Benefit committees to review investment options associated with retirement plans as well as material decision on non-retirement for annual renewals.
- Be actively involved in employee relations and negotiations for C&B topics. Ensure a constructive social dialogue on the C&B related matters and partner closely with Site HR.
- Lead communications and education in the field of reward within the organization.
- Prioritize initiatives and directs the work to ensure goals are met. Set clear and realistic C&B roadmaps on a (multi) yearly base.
- Participation in strategic company projects requiring C&B expertise and strong guidance, such as e.g. M&A projects, new BU investments in the region.
- Be a trusted partner in people excellence projects, steering the reward matters (e.g. global job evaluation framework).
- 8 years of relevant work experience with international exposure and experience - multi-state and multi-country experience is a plus
- Master degree in HR, Economics or other relevant area
- In-depth understanding of compensation and benefits in an international environment, existing methodologies and approaches
- Ability to navigate in a multi-functional/multi-cultural environments ; inclusive leadership style
- Excellent organizational and project management skills. Able to work efficiently and run multiple projects simultaneously. Comfortable with change, complexity and shifting priorities.
- Ability to work at both operational and strategic levels
