The Lead Youth & Children Services Specialist serves as the lead staff that oversees the provisions of the prevention education programs targeting children, youth, and adults. This position will work closely with the Directors with developing and maintaining partnerships with various schools and social services agencies to promote services that will lead in securing classrooms and sites to implement education groups, and presentations.

Lead Youth & Family Services Specialist Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and direction to the youth & family services staff.
  • Lead the ongoing strategy formulation of the youth & children programming including the development and refining of service and goals and objectives.
  • Conduct outreach targeting schools, social service agencies, healthcare providers and other key agencies to promote services targeting youth and children.
  • Gather and track all data pertaining to project activities conducted, project progress program data, complete monthly, semi-annual and/or annual reports
  • Coordinate weekly Youth and Family Teem meetings to review program progress, discuss program sites, referrals, and other program matters.
  • Plan, prepare and deliver Safe Dates and other youth violence prevention lesson plans and instructional materials which will foster skill building around conflict resolution, communication & respect.
  • Identify and develop strategic community sites to implement prevention programs.
  • Track all data pertaining to project activities conducted, progress toward project goals/ objectives, and prepare monthly program reports.
  • Participate in various community/school events, meetings, focus groups as identified by funders and/or program, and conduct community presentations and outreach to promote awareness of gender violence, healthy relationships, and youth leadership.
  • Performs special projects and other related duties as assigned.
  • Able and willing to work non-standard hours, and travel in or out of the state of Wisconsin as needed.
  • Attend meetings, conferences, and workshops, and perform special projects and other related duties, as assigned.

Lead Youth & Family Services Specialist Job Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma (or equivalent) supplemented by two years of post-secondary education, in a relevant field. Note: Additional years of work experience in a relevant field can be substituted for one year of education.
  • Knowledge of Public Health Model of Prevention and/or experience in Prevention Field.
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English Verbal and Written Preferred.
  • Demonstrate knowledge collaborating with private and public schools, social service agencies, etc.
  • Must have a car and adequate auto liability insurance.
  • Ability and willingness to travel and work Irregular hours (non-standard and evening).

Physical Demands:

  • Employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, bend.
  • Occasionally required to lift and /or move up to 20 lbs.
  • Frequently required to drive.
  • Frequently exposed to moderate temperature generally encountered in a controlled temperature environment and outside setting.
  • Noise level in this work is usually semi-moderate.

Tools & Equipment Used:

  • iPad, iPhone, laptop computers, projectors, copy/scanner machine, computer.
  • Be able to scan documents and encrypt documents as necessary.
  • Use first aid equipment, fire extinguisher.

Usage varies by position.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.45 - $21.82 per hour
