About the Role :
The Physical Security Specialist is responsible for the detection, investigation and processing of all criminal and destructive activity against Umpqua Bank. Specialists are responsible for researching, developing, and implementing security measures to protect the bank’s personnel, visitors, facilities, and physical assets. This role requires aptitude in security protocols, risk management, threat intelligence, and emergency response procedures.
Develops and implements sound physical security strategies to mitigate risks and safeguard organizational assets
Conducts bank security surveys and threat assessments to identify vulnerabilities
Prepares intelligence summaries, investigative reports, and other documents as needed
Adheres to established policies and procedures with consistency and precision
Coordinates and manages the installation and maintenance of approved security systems and devices
Effectively manages third party engagements contractually and operationally
Coordinates the detection, investigation and processing of all criminal and destructive activity against Umpqua Bank
Conducts surveillance and video investigations for law enforcement andother business units as directed
Conducts internal and external investigations as needed (Criminal, Civil, and Administrative)
Ensures all security devices, alarms, cameras and access control systems are in working order and maintained.
Manages and monitors access control systems to ensure only authorized personnel have access to bank property
Responds to after hour alarms, 24 / 7 emergency situations, and law enforcement requests wherever geographically possible
Responds to court related requests, such as subpoenas related to physical security items and responds in a timely manner.
Collects and preserves digital and physical evidence in a manner that safeguards destruction, alteration, or mishandling
Manages physical security maintenance and service requests, creates work orders for approved vendors, and maintains work logs as needed.
Reviews invoices for accuracy, approve and submit for payment in a timely manner
Effectively analyze Physical Security maintenance issues and provide practical, cost-effective solutions.
About You :
2-4 years in Physical Security in the Banking Industry, required.
Working knowledge and understanding of Physical Security Systems and application within the bank
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint Outlook, etc.
Proficiency in open-source intelligence gathering, public records searches, and social media investigations.
Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
Exceptional customer service skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the bank.
Communicates effectively with bank employees, contractors, and maintenance service providers

We offer a competitive total rewards package including base wages and comprehensive benefits. The pay range for this role is $28.00 to $38.00 an hour, and the pay rate for the selected candidate is dependent upon a variety of non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, education, and geographic location. The role may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation and those details will be provided during the recruitment process.
