The position of Computer Information Systems/Computer Science (CIS/CS) Instructor has 174 contractual days, including 6 paid holidays. The starting compensation is $63,425.88-$70,117.77.

As the Full-Time Faculty: Computer Information Systems/Computer Science (CIS/CS) Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching courses in operating systems, networking, and cybersecurity. The successful candidate will be committed to facilitating learning using the most up-to-date pedagogy, technology, and discipline specific knowledge. This position may be online, face to face, or in a hybrid format. All faculty are responsible for teaching in all modalities and keeping current in new modalities that develop in higher education. Other responsibilities will include curriculum assessment and development, managing instructional projects, creating community partnerships, leading advisory committees, being actively involved in recruiting and helping graduates with job placement, while having a significant presence on campus
The Computer Science program is designed to provide students with a quality education that motivates students to reach their full potential through computer programming, and computer logic skills necessary for transfer, career success, and lifelong learning. UCC has an AI lab incubator network, sponsored by Intel, Dell and the American Association of Community Colleges. UCC is an authorized Cisco Networking Academy, EC-Council Academia Partner, Palo Alto Networks Academy, and VMware Academy.

Required Qualifications:
Commensurate with State of Oregon requirements of respective academic and/or technical field: For CTE faculty, this includes the following:
- Master’s degree in CIS, CS or the equivalent from an accredited college or university.
- Ability to become certified in courses taught (Cisco, CompTIA, EC-Council, Microsoft).
- Ability to teach courses in operating systems, networking, and cybersecurity.
- A minimum of three years of verifiable experience related to the field.
- Skill in common computer programming languages such as Python.
- A minimum of three years community college teaching experience.
- Both in-class and online instruction experience preferred
- Ability to teach courses in artificial intelligence (ML/DL, NLP, DV, and data science), operating systems, networking, and cybersecurity.
