Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sterilization Tech to join our dental team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all instruments are properly sterilized and maintained in accordance with our established protocols. Your expertise in aseptic techniques and sterile processing will contribute to the safety and well-being of patients and employees.
Responsibilities
- Perform sterilization of dental and medical instruments using appropriate methods such as autoclaving, chemical disinfection, or other sterilization techniques.
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes
- Collaborate with assistants understand specific sterilization needs for various procedures
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the sterilization area for a safe working environment
- Cleans, decontaminates, and inspects instrumentation
- Organizes surgical cassettes daily for patient schedule
- Processes specialty instruments and ensures storage of all items
- Maintain a sterile work environment according to standard infection control
- Unpacks orders in the clinic and keeps sterilization stocked
- Anticipates instruments needs for the clinic and follows the patient schedule
- Performs quality assurance, documentation, and quality control activities
- Always follows OHSA standards and wears proper PPE
- Communicates instrument repair needs to manager
- Able to stand regularly lift or move up to 30 pounds
- Able to stand for extended periods of time
- Cleans, decontaminates, and inspects instrumentation
- Ensure a safe working environment for patients and the team
- Ensure all equipment is properly cleaned, inspected, and maintained before and after use.
- Monitor sterilization cycles and maintain accurate records of sterilization processes.
- Assist in the organization and inventory management of sterile supplies.
- Collaborate with dental assistants, receptionists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless workflow in the clinic.
- Adhere to safety regulations and infection control protocols at all times.
- Participate in ongoing training related to sterilization techniques and infection control practices.
Skills
- Familiarity with dental assisting practices, particularly in enhances collaboration with clinical staff.
- Previous experience as a Sterilization Technician is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Strong organizational skills for maintaining accurate medical records.
- Will have to willing to have TB testing and Hepatitis B vaccine.
