Job Description

Institutional Research (IR) is responsible for providing the data and analysis needed to make decisions that support student success. As a key member of the IR team, the Data Research Analyst works collaboratively with stakeholders from across the institution to meet their data needs. The
individual in this role will have the chance to build processes, reports and dashboards and leverage creativity and expertise to address the data needs of the university.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
Conduct data analysis needed to comply with University, State, and Federal reporting such as Common Data Set, and IPEDS accurately and on time utilizing SQL, SAS and Cognos.
Perform data analysis for functional offices, such as Admissions/Enrollment, Student Success, Finance, Financial Aid, Human Resources, and Registrar, and make such data available to the campus to assist in problem solving and decision-making.
Identify, and provide data as requested by various schools, departments and programs for accreditation, external reports or other approved purposes.
Use data visualization software (such as PowerBI) to create dashboards and provide insights to increase data-driven decisions.
Collaborate with departments such as Admissions/Enrollment, Registrar, and Financial Aid to access data, address issues with student data quality, and maintain data integrity.
Support University initiatives and strategic plan by assisting departments with data needs by creating reports and providing in-depth data analysis.

Shift
M-F; 8am – 5pm: 40 hours per week
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science or closely related discipline or equivalent work experience and education/training providing similar knowledge and skills is necessary
Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to set priorities and coordinate multiple projects.
Knowledge of structured query language (SQL) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to build reports, and interactive charts/graphs using tools such as Power BI, or Google Analytics
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to work with data from multiple electronic sources
Knowledge of Institutional Research and/or Higher Education.
Advanced skills in statistical software (e.g. Python, R, SAS, and SPSS)
Experience with enterprise reporting tools (Cognos)
Experience using Microsoft Excel advanced features (e.g., pivot tables, lookup formulas, graphics)
Anticipated Hiring Range
Pay commensurate with education and experience.
Hiring Range: $48,900-$65,000 annually
Grade: GGS-10

Salary : $48,900 - $65,000
