Summary:
The Powder Coating Manager is responsible for leading operations to ensure production is completed in a safe, efficient and timely manner while maintaining quality standards. Will also be directly accountable to their financial results.
Essential Functions:
- Set-up and maintain daily operations of Nordon powder coating units
- Trouble shoot Nordson powder coating units
- Train powder coat employees on powder unit PM’s
- Establish workflow policies that enhance speed and efficiency without comprising safety of employees, safety of product, and quality.
- Aid in streamlining processes and best practices to drive efficiency gains and quality improvements.
- Provide oversight when needed for scrap entry
- Daily production entry
- Daily cart inventory reconciliation
- Work cross functionally with team members from all areas to drive continuous improvement activities in key areas
- Assist floor supervisors and lead people in training needs
- Monitor, evaluate, and report out on employee performance, while providing coaching when needed.
- Complete annual performance reviews
- Schedules and assigns employees to work according to the demand of the production schedule.
- Track absenteeism and approve employee’s time in timekeeping system. Strive to reduce expenses and increase productivity across product line(s)

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 3 years previous supervisory experience in manufacturing facility or 6 years related experience.
- Powder coating experience a plus
- Knowledge or experience in LEAN manufacturing principles
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously with little oversight and make prudent and informed decisions, often quickly and with limited information.
- Able to read and perform basic mathematical calculations
- Ability to work in fast paced environment
- Basic Computer skills, i.e.: E-mail, data entry
- Some travel may be required for training, or best-practice sharing, up to 15%
Position Type / Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time exempt position.
Compensation:
Commensurate with experience.
