Job Title: Underground Drop-in Center Assistant Director
Job Status: Full-time, exempt, grant-funded
Job Summary: The primary function of the Underground Drop-in Center Assistant Director is to oversee the drop-in center and staff, under the supervision of the Director, ensuring that youth and service partners feel welcome, services are provided in a professional manner, staff are guided and cared for, case management software is configured to collect needed data and functioning properly, documentation and grant reports are completed accurately and in a timely manner, and sufficient outreach and referral development efforts are in place to assure that drop-in center services are being used to capacity and program goals are met.
Job Requirements:
- Mature Christian faith evidenced by regular engagement in a local Christian church
- Agree to and pass all required criminal background checks and child abuse registry check
- Pass employment authorization verification
- Provide at least three references, including at least one supervisory and one personal reference
- High level of emotional maturity and responsibility
- Strong work ethic - consistent and reliable
- Commitment to excellence and professionalism in services provided
- Excellent relational, communication, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to prepare and deliver presentations

- Management experience required

- Degree in social work or similar field and/or experience in case management and documentation preferred
- Strong preference given to Licensed Master Social Worker
- Preference given if trained in use of motivational interviewing, stages of change, and TBRI
- Experience with Salesforce nonprofit case management software is a plus
- Ability to speak Spanish is a plus
Compensation: Annual salary
Benefits: Option of health insurance for employee and family, life insurance for employee, option to participate in retirement plan (3% salary match after 90 days with 1-year vesting period)
Availability: Anticipated 40-50 hour work week at the drop-in center, on call and accessible by phone to staff as needed 24/7 half the time (split with other Underground drop-in center supervisory staff)
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure that the drop-in center is staffed 24/7 - cover any shifts that drop-in center staff are not able to cover
- In coordination with the Director, recruit, hire, train, supervise, and retain excellent staff for the drop-in center
- Arrange for drop-in center staff to meet all onboarding and annual training requirements; update training requirements as needed
- Ensure that drop-in center staff follow all policies and protocol, including Unbound Now’s abuse prevention and response policy; implement progressive discipline policy per employee handbook when needed, in coordination with Director and HR
- Ensure that drop-in center staff meet immediate physical needs of clients - clothes, food, toiletries, etc. Assist in meeting these needs as needed based on staffing model and client volume.
- Ensure proper administration of case management software used to track Underground client and service data with the support of the Program Specialist
- Ensure that drop-in center staff properly and timely document all intakes and services
- Ensure that drop-in center staff request youth to complete a survey
- Ensure that programmatic grant reporting is completed properly and in a timely manner
- Approve Underground staff purchases on Ramp, Unbound Now’s expense management software
- Review Underground monthly expense reports in Sage, Unbound Now’s accounting software
- Build and maintain excellent relationships with partner agencies
- Conduct outreach and referral development efforts to assure that drop-in center services are being used to capacity and program goals are met
- Ensure that all Underground drop-in center policies and protocol are updated as needed, in coordination with the Director
- Ensure that drop-in center staff maintain facility cleanliness and sanitation, including running laundry, keeping the kitchen and bathrooms clean, etc. Janitorial services will be provided, but staff must ensure that the center is clean and tidy at all times.
- Ensure that drop-in center staff follow health precaution protocol and sanitation requirements
- Maintain appropriate level of stock of needed supplies; reorder items as needed
- Alert Director when challenging situations arise
- Recognize red flag behavior (as described in Unbound Now’s Abuse Prevention and Response Policy), respond according to policy, and report to Director
- Ensure that drop-in center staff convey a service-oriented approach to clients and partner agencies. Communicate an eagerness to be helpful with all stakeholders. Collaborate actively in support of partners’ objectives.
- Ensure relationship-based, trauma-responsive, survivor/client-centered services in collaboration with on-going system and service- or investigation-based case management
- Ensure that drop-in center staff provide proper care for emotional support dog
- Coordinate with One Safe Place staff as needed and maintain excellent working relationship
- Screen, train, and supervise drop-in center volunteers and interns

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged sitting at a desk and using a computer
- Able to drive
- Able to read, write, and speak English fluently (bilingual Spanish may be eligible for additional stipend)
- Physically able to bend, stoop, and lift to facilitate job responsibilities noted herein
- Must be able to lift 10-15 pounds
- Ability to work overnight and the ability to stay awake if needed
- Vision and hearing must be sufficient to interact with other staff, volunteers, partners, and clients to carry out the responsibilities of the job as noted herein
