Primary Purpose of Position
The full-time position is the primary strategic communications contact for assigned sports as directed by the supervisor.
Summary of Position Responsibilities
Responsible for a strategic communications plan to promote and publicize assigned sports with emphasis on social media and visual storytelling. Responsible for building relationships with head coaches, student-athletes and staff; serving as adviser regarding communications strategy and content creation.
Coordinate media opportunities, press conferences, and interviews, and actively promote content through internal outlets. Design, write, and produce record books, press releases, game programs, and other publications. Act as liaison with conference affiliation and NCAA offices. Maintain website content and engage social media platforms. Nominate student-athletes for national, regional, and conference athletic and academic honors. Coordinate media operations for home events and assist with special events when necessary. Acts in compliance with institutional, conference and National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) rules and regulations and reports known NCAA violations.

Minimum Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Sport Management, or related field;
- Communications experience with college or professional sports;
- Knowledge and experience with social media platforms and content creation
