Located within the School of Nursing, the Learning Resource Center provides experiential opportunities that enhance student learning in a safe, innovative environment while promoting competence in all aspects of healthcare professional practice.
Primary Purpose of Position
The primary purpose of this position is to provide support to School of Nursing students in the delivery of face-to-face, online and virtual simulation experiences.
Summary of Position Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Simulation Coordinator and Simulation Operations Manager to organize and implement all modalities of simulation supported education including task trainers, patient simulators, standardized participants, and virtual reality.
- Responsible for equipment setup and breakdown, programming scenarios, operation of software during simulation, and ongoing maintenance.
- Independently identify and correct system issues related to simulators and other equipment.
- Assist with stocking of supplies, lead tours of the simulation areas, participate in admitted students days and other marketing events, including occasional weekend and evening events.
- Provide simulation experiences that adhere to Healthcare Simulation Standards of Best Practice.
Minimum Education/Experience
Associate Degree and at least one year of experience in healthcare field such as health technology, biomedical technology, EMT, a health-related discipline, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field; previous simulation technician experience.
