Position Overview
The Clinical Program Coordinator oversees and manages clinical exercise programs within a healthcare setting, ensuring the safe and effective delivery of fitness, wellness, and rehabilitation services. This role is responsible for patient education, program compliance, and operational support, while collaborating with patients, physicians, and multidisciplinary teams to promote patient safety and optimal health outcomes.
Compensation is commensurate upon education, experience, certification, and internal equity. Hiring compensation range starts from $18.00 per hour. This is a non-exempt position.

- Compensation is commensurate upon education & experience - range is $18.00 per hour or more. Benefits begin the first of the month following 60 days of employment from the new hire orientation date. This position is non-exempt and includes shift differentials for qualified shifts.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage clinical exercise programs, ensuring safety and compliance with healthcare standards.
- Guide patients through personalized exercise plans, focusing on safe and effective movement.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to optimize patient wellness and rehabilitation.
- Educate patients on exercise benefits, safety protocols, and wellness practices.
- Maintain accurate documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory and hospital policies.
- Train and supervise exercise and rehabilitation support staff as needed.
Position Requirements
Minimum Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or a related field from an accredited university.
- Clinical Exercise Physiology preferred.
Experience
- One year of experience in a wellness setting preferred.
- Clinical exercise experience highly desirable.
Required Registration/License/Certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required at the time of hire.
- American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) or National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) certification required within 12 months of hire.
- ACSM Health Fitness Specialist or Clinical Exercise Specialist preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Expertise in exercise training, patient coaching, and wellness education.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with patients, physicians, and stakeholders.
- Ability to develop individualized fitness plans based on patient assessments.
- Proficiency in exercise equipment usage and safety protocols.
- Experience in delivering patient education sessions and coordinating clinical exercise programs.
Physical Demands
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of ≥ 50 lbs.
- Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking.
- Frequent bending, squatting, twisting, and turning.
- Manual dexterity and mobility required for patient support and equipment handling.
- Near acuity vision required for close work.
Working Conditions
- Frequent mobilization of patients, exceeding 4 hours per day.
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of objects > 50 lbs per shift.
- Frequent exposure to soft voices and close eye work for documentation and patient interactions.
- Subject to irregular hours, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
