The Echocardiograph Technician (Echo Tech) performs echocardiographic procedures to support diagnosis and treatment of cardiac conditions. The starting hourly rate for this position is commensurate with education, experience, certification, and internal equity. Hiring compensation typically begins at $29.00.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform echocardiograms using GE and other diagnostic equipment.

Provide accurate and timely cardiac imaging for interpretation by physicians.

Maintain safe and effective operation of equipment; perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting as needed.

Ensure proper documentation and input of patient data.

Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.

Support and uphold ARHS policies, procedures, and ethical standards.

Respond promptly to emergency situations and changes in patient condition.

Foster a positive work environment and assist coworkers and patients as needed, within scope of practice.
Position Requirements:
Minimum Education:
-
Graduate of an AMA-accredited school of health science education.
Experience:
-
Experience with GE Echocardiographic equipment preferred.

Proficient in reading safety protocols and operating manuals.
Required Registration/License/Certification:
-
Registered or registry-eligible with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) – required within one year of hire (or within two years if on-the-job trained).

Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association required at time of hire.

ACLS and PALS may be required depending on department needs.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to provide exceptional patient service.

Ability to work independently while maintaining team collaboration.

Competency in delivering safe care aligned with professional certification, licensure, and hospital policy.

Understands the continuum of care in a clinical setting and contributes positively to the care team.
Physical Demands:

Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting (up to and over 50 pounds).

Ability to work in fast-paced clinical environments.
Working Conditions:

Exposure to bloodborne pathogens, chemicals, and medical equipment.

Shift flexibility including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

On-call responsibilities as assigned.
