Position Summary:
HIM Operations Specialist 2 is a key team member in the Health Information Management department, responsible for the analysis, deficiency assignment, and processing of electronic medical records. This position ensures compliance with Medical Staff Bylaws, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards. Key responsibilities include:
- Deficiency Monitoring & Provider Support: Assign deficiencies and monitor resolution, managing provider suspensions and reinstatements as needed.
- Work Queue Management: Process electronic work queues to support continuity of care and hospital reimbursement.
- Compliance & Quality Assurance: Conduct compliance reviews and quality assurance checks to ensure adherence to CMS and TJC standards, providing feedback to medical staff.
- Record Completion Assistance: Aid providers with timely and accurate completion of medical records.

Qualifications:
Education:

- Prior experience in quality audits within a healthcare environment is preferred.
Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and with intermediate keyboard skills.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- The ability to deliver safe and effective patient support within legal limits and hospital policies.
Licenses/Certifications:
- RHIT certification preferred but not required.
Compensation:
Starting pay begins at $16.00 per hour, with competitive rates based on experience and education.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Requires lifting and moving up to 30 lbs., prolonged sitting/standing, and repetitive motions.
- Regular exposure to a variety of environments, including electrical/mechanical equipment.
- Irregular hours, including occasional evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
