Position Overview

The Nutrition Supervisor oversees the nutrition services staff involved in food production and sanitation. Responsibilities include assisting with menu planning for the dining room, supervising patient meal services, and managing Nutrition Service calls as needed. The role requires practicing appropriate food handling techniques, demonstrating safety procedures, and providing exceptional customer service.

Compensation is commensurate upon education, experience, certification, and internal equity. Hiring compensation range starts from $17.00 / hour.

  • Compensation is commensurate upon education & experience - range is $17.00 / hour or more (depending on education & experience). Benefits begin the first of the month following 60 days of employment from the new hire orientation date. This position is a non-exempt position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise nutrition services staff involved in food production and sanitation.
  • Assist with menu planning for dining room services.
  • Supervise patient meal services and manage Nutrition Service calls as needed.
  • Practice appropriate food handling techniques and demonstrate safety procedures.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and team members.
  • Ensure adherence to ARHS policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain professional conduct and effective communication with all stakeholders.
  • Support coworkers, patients, and visitors within the scope of the job description.
  • Position Requirements

    Minimum Education :

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience :

  • 1-2 years of previous experience preferred but not required.
  • Previous healthcare experience in an acute or clinical setting is preferred.
  • Required Registration / License / Certification :

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required at the time of hire.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

  • Strong communication skills to interact courteously and effectively with patients, families, staff, and physicians.
  • Competency in delivering safe and effective care within legal limits and hospital policies.
  • Ability to work independently under pressure and use time efficiently.
  • Demonstrated exceptional customer service skills.
  • Basic computer literacy with knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, and nutritional analysis software.
  • Physical Demands
