Position Overview
The Store Room Assistant is responsible for receiving, storing, transporting, distributing, and managing inventory for supplies across designated UNC Health Appalachian facilities. This role supports day-to-day logistics while ensuring supply accuracy, timely delivery, and adherence to safety protocols. The Store Room Assistant collaborates with staff across departments and demonstrates professionalism and customer service in all interactions.
Compensation is commensurate upon education, experience, certification, and internal equity. Hiring compensation range begins at $16.00 per hour.

- Compensation is commensurate upon education & experience – range is $16.00 per hour or more. Benefits begin the first of the month following 60 days of employment from the new hire orientation date. This position is a non-exempt position with shift differential.

Key Responsibilities

Receive, label, store, and distribute supplies and equipment to hospital departments.

Maintain inventory control by tracking stock levels and reporting shortages.

Operate carts, pallet jacks, or motor vehicles to transport supplies.

Follow safety and infection prevention protocols when handling materials.

Assist in cycle counts, supply room organization, and data entry for inventory systems.

Provide courteous assistance to clinical and non-clinical staff.
Position Requirements
Minimum Education

High School Diploma or GED required.

Valid Operator’s License with acceptable driving history.
Experience

Previous storeroom or supply chain experience preferred but not required.
