Summary:
The Program Manager Foundation Events is responsible for planning, production and implementation of a variety of special events including community and third-party fundraising events, signature fundraising events, stewardship, board, regional, grateful patient focused events, and other events assigned by the Assistant Vice President, Events. This individual will also be responsible for working with frontline fundraisers, community members, donors, corporations and foundations to solicit gifts and major event sponsorships, as well as responsible for helping create a pipeline of major gift donors for UNC Health Foundation through management of special events and giving campaigns. This position is expected to manage all aspects of event planning, including kick-off planning meeting, budget and management, developing guest lists, invitations, all mailings (virtual and paper), vendor relations and timelines, day of management, auction items, online giving platforms, post event debriefs, and other related duties.
Responsibilities:
Fundraising - Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward current or prospective donors at all gift levels in support of events. Manage a portfolio of individuals, corporations and foundations and make 75-100 contacts with them over the course of a year.
Signature Events - Develop and create a strategic plan for UNC Health Foundation s signature events and a structure for sponsors to support those events, ensuring fundraising success. Manage all event logistics including guest lists, invitations, marketing of event, venue, catering, speakers, program, gifts, budget tracking and reporting, and printed materials. Ensure all special event sponsors, attendees and purchases are billed on a timely basis and that community and signature event revenue is collected and accurately accounted and reported. Evaluate ROI at the end of each event. Provide pre and post guest list information to the major gift officer team to create a pipeline for major donors.
Event Communication and Stewardship - Work with communications colleagues to draft website stories, social media posts and other communications regarding signature events. Share community event information with the communications team so that it is posted on websites and shared through appropriate media/social media channels. Mail and email targeted communications to steward event organizers and supporters
Board Meetings- Assist in planning Board meetings and Board of Visitor meetings. Work with colleagues to identify dates, venue, catering, program, speakers and printed materials.
Community Events - Support and increase the number of third-party fundraising events held throughout the state to support UNC Health. Create online giving pages for donors and the community, ensure our brand is being used properly and be a resource for community events and ensure best practices are being used. Evaluate ROI at the end of each event.
Education Requirements:
● Bachelor's degree required.
Professional Experience Requirements:
● Requires three (3) years of comprehensive event planning, fundraising and/or volunteer engagement experience and a record of demonstrated success in personally soliciting and closing gifts/sponsorships/auction items.
