POSITION SUMMARY:
The Unit Manager is a nurse leader who performs the primary functions of assessing, planning, implementing, directing, and evaluating patient care on a 24-hour basis for his/her designated unit(s). He/She manages all personnel, supplies and equipment necessary to facilitate quality patient care. He/She keeps abreast of techniques, skills, current practices and regulations appropriate to age of patients served.
EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS, TRAINING and EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Required:
- BSN required.
- Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
- BLS certification required; recertification required bi-annually.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a RN in a clinical setting.
- Knowledge of, and ability to, develop strategies to apply current theoretical approaches to the delivery of patient care.
- Knowledge of current leadership, management and quality improvement concepts.
- Ability to perform and or lead program development and implementation.
- Strong quality service skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to deal with the public
