UNC Sleep Disorders Center is an AASM accredited lab specializing in chronic care of respiratory disorders in adult, pediatric and high acuity patients. - This position qualifies for a $10,000 commitment incentive which will be paid over a three (3) year work commitment.
Responsibilities
- May provide instruction and guidance to other technologists in the Neurodiagnostic/Sleep Disorders Lab.
- Patient Assessment - Recognizes data from complex situations to determine priorities for care, including but not limited to; polysomnographic testing with possible oxygen therapy and continuous positive air pressure treatments (CPAP), BiPAP and other ventilatory modalities.
- Performs room and equipment set-up in lab and in an inpatient setting. Calibrates and maintains equipment.
- Collects and scores polysomnographic tests.
- Takes patient histories. Instruct patients and families on test preparation and pretest interviews.

Education Requirements
- Graduation from an acceptable program of Neurodiagnostic
- Registered in one of the following specialty areas:
- EEG (Electroencecephalogram- R. EEG T., CLTM)
- Polysomnography (RPSGT)
- Registered Sleep Technologist (RST)
- If completion of an acceptable program of Neurophysiology: No prior experience required.
- Requires High School Diploma if no graduation from an acceptable program of Neurophysiology and two (2) years of experience performing a variety of Sleep or Neurodiagnostics procedures.
