Summary:
The Patient Access Quality Auditor and Trainer position is responsible for auditing, preparing and interpreting Medicaid, Registration, Financial Assistance and Financial Counseling policies and procedures. This position is responsible for training appropriate personnel on Patient Access policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
1. Compiles data and proposes budgets for subprogram studies and proposed legislation determines programmatic impact and composes response for fiscal statements and fiscal notes. Reviews current and proposed state and federal regulations and/or revisions to those regulations for hospitals and home health providers. Evaluates new and/or revised regulations to determine the impact to the state Medicaid program and to our internal Patient Access departments
2. Conducts audits of Medicaid eligibility enrollment applications, registrations, Financial Assistance applications, Financial Counseling visits-prepares reports on results of each audit. Prepares, interprets and clarifies eligibility policies and procedures. Revises rules, regulations, and procedures to meet changes in law or policy.
3. Coordinates compliance monitoring. Receives and schedules all requests for training.
4. Develops training module and provides essential guidance to employees and managers regarding preparing accurate, pertinent and substantiated data.
Other Information
- Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline (or equivalent combination of education, training and experience).
- No licensure or certification required.
- If a Bachelor's degree: Four (4) years of experience in Patient Access subject matter.
- If an Associate's degree: Eight (8) years of experience in Patient Access subject matter.
- If a High School diploma or GED: Twelve (12) years of experience in Patient Access subject matter
