Our program is designed to provide clinical training in the areas where the hospital and pharmacy department have identified strengths. These include cardiology, oncology, critical care, surgery, antimicrobial stewardship and pharmacy informatics. The goal of the residency is to produce a strong clinical pharmacy provider who is well rounded in terms of knowledge and skills. Committee assignments help the resident to gain project development skills. Opportunities exist for interaction with pharmacy students, public speaking, and formulary management.

Responsibilities
- Completion of a major residency project and medication use evaluation (MUE). Each resident will submit an abstract to present their MUE at the University HealthSystem Consortium Pharmacy Council Meeting Poster Session. Projects will be presented as platform presentations at the Eastern States Conference for Pharmacy Residents and Preceptors.
- Participates in and leads daily Pharmacy Rounds
- Meets objectives of each clinical rotation
- Develop goals of residency program with Residency Program Director. Develop rotation goals with rotation preceptors.
- Complete assignments by the end of each rotation
- Preparing a written self-evaluation of each rotation at its conclusion that includes accomplishment of objectives, experiences gained, and evaluation of the rotation site and preceptor with recommendations for improvement.
- Provide required presentations throughout the residency, including journal club presentations, residency conferences, ambulatory care reports, inservices to other healthcare providers, and pharmacy technician continuing education conferences.

Education Requirements
- PharmD (from an accredited College of Pharmacy),
- ACLS and BCLS to be obtained within 90days of employment.
- ACLS;PHARMACIST;BCLS
- With no PharmD, equivalent experience and eligibility for licensure in North Carolina.
- Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis. Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
