Job Title : Registered Nurse (RN)
Job Specialty : Progressive Care Unit
Job Duration : 13 weeks
Shift : Nights
Guaranteed Hours : 36 per week
Experience : Minimum one year of nursing experience required
License : Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state
Certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification (AHA or ARC)
Must-Have : Nursing Diploma or ADN / ASN from an accredited school of Nursing
Job Description :
- Provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards.
- Responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting.
- Participates in identifying and meeting learning needs.
- Attends educational programs based on identified learning needs.
- Uses patient education materials relevant to patient populations and assesses their readiness to learn.
- Identifies expected patient outcomes and revises plans of care with guidance as needed.
- Engages in discussion with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate patient care.
- Communicates relevant information to promote continuity of care.
- Demonstrates competence in the care of patients with complex problems, addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects.
- Organizes and prioritizes care according to patient and family needs.
- Consults with appropriate resources for patients with complex care issues or high-risk discharge planning.
- Develops goals to promote professional growth and collaborates in achieving unit goals and performance improvement activities.
- Recognizes complex situations and synthesizes assessment data into meaningful whole prior to communication.
- Collaborates with patients and families to prepare or update plans of care and uses multidisciplinary resources.
- Reads relevant journals and brings ideas and questions to the staff for evaluation.
