What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialist - Open Rank position at UNC?
The University of North Carolina's Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is recruiting a tenure track or variable track Assistant Professor of Maternal Fetal Medicine to provide inpatient and outpatient obstetrics care to patients and collaborate with departmental and healthcare system leaders, clinicians, and administrators to develop and implement initiatives to enhance quality, safety and community engagement.
Responsibilities will also include education of medical students, residents, and fellows, and participation in the division's research mission.
The division's clinical programs include :
- High-risk obstetric care
- Perinatal consultation
- Prenatal diagnosis
- Ultrasound
- Genetic services
- Invasive fetal therapy
- Perinatal outreach
Division faculty members are engaged participants in the activities of UNC's Collaborative for Maternal and Infant Health (www.mombaby.org), which provides multidisciplinary care coordination for families referred for fetal malformations. Division members actively participate in student and resident teaching and provide subspecialty training for six Maternal Fetal Medicine fellows through its 3-year American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology (ABOG) approved fellowship program. Some night, weekend and holiday inpatient work is expected, in rotation with other division members.
