What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant / Associate / Full Professor position at uncc-sb?
In response to the State of North Carolina’s initiative to “engineer a smart and secure future”, the William States Lee College of Engineering (LCoE) at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte is seeking applications for multiple full-time tenure-track positions at all academic ranks. Successful candidates will contribute to the overarching initiative, with preference given to those conducting research in the areas of transportation and advanced mobility, or smart and sustainable cities. We are particularly interested in those with experience in leveraging artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data, cloud/edge computing, cybersecurity, etc. to address today’s engineering challenges. Potential specific domain areas include; intelligent vehicles and electrification, simulation and calibration of large-scale and complex transportation systems, distributed self-aware systems for smart city applications, and vehicle to infrastructure communications.As these positions are part of a larger $40 million investment by the State of North Carolina and the University, successful candidates are expected to benefit from collaborative opportunities arising from recent hires with share interests within the College of Computing and Informatics (CCI) and the School of Data Science (SDS). This large initiative also encompasses the design and construction of state-of-the-art facilities, acquisition of advanced equipment, and growth of several University undergraduate and graduate programs.
