- Obtain a copy of the production schedule at the beginning of each shift.
- Use schedule to ensure proper set-up. This includes proper code date and placement, correct film, correct fill weight, correct price point (if applicable), and all other specification.
- Inspect machines for cleanliness – maintain sanitary conditions at all times.
- Set up weight and feed buckets, and vibratory pan.
- Program packaging machine to accommodate target product.
- Assist packer in evaluating the first 10 bags produced at startup and every changeover thereafter.
- Operate packaging machines at appropriate speeds.
- Periodically monitor weight limits to ensure that bags are meeting specification.
- Unused film stock must be covered and placed in the proper location after use. Partial rolls of film should be used before fill rolls
- Formers must be cleaned after each use, covered, and stored in the proper location.
- Monitor printer characters and blocks to ensure code date is legible and accurate.
- Communicate with seasoning operators and machine operators to ensure proper product seasoning and coverage.
- Fulfill any and all necessary paperwork and reports.
- Prepare ahead for a changeover – have all equipment ready.
- Maintain a clean work area.
- Perform all duties in an effective manner, considering company resources such as raw material, time, and electricity.
- Monitor and train new machine operators, as necessary.
- Follow all GMP's.
- Must be able to stand for long periods.
- Must be able to lift up to 80lbs on occasion.
