Position Overview:
Assists in examination and treatment of patients under direction of Physician by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other assignments, projects, and duties may be required:
· Adhere to Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) standards by observing a team-based approach to care and supporting each member of the team to their highest level of function allowed by law.
· Rooms and interviews patients, measures vital signs, such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height, and records information in EMR. Assists MD/PA with examinations, procedures, and other patient care.
· Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients, including adequate stocking and ensuring equipment functioning. Cleans and prepares instruments for sterilization, and requests replacement of medical supplies and materials per procedures
· Gives injections or treatments, performs routine laboratory tests and operates electrocardiograph (EKG) and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic test.
· Assists as needed in patient information triage: including prescription refills, phone triage, attaching reports/results in EMR and reporting to providers in an appropriate manner.
· Ensures adequate supplies (including pharmacy) and sterile instruments are available; proper functioning of equipment; and that work areas are prepared, cleaned, and ready for use. This includes inventory in the assigned department.
· Specific administration duties may be assigned from the following areas: X-ray, patient education, sterilization, orthopedic supplies, lab, supply stocking, vaccine management, ordering, pharmacy, and emergency room among others.
· Promotes a safe, secure, and caring patient environment: patients are treated with concern and consideration; patient information is handled in a confidential manner; patient areas are clean, and biohazard materials handled appropriately; equipment and supplies are stored safely; all patient and medical staff area windows and appropriate doors are closed and locked during non-patient care hours; and nursing staff is available as long as patients are present (unless otherwise directed by MD/PA.)
· Promotes a professional work environment through encouraging teamwork and cooperation, sharing expertise and job duties, attendance is timely and punctual, and participation in training and meetings as requested. Appearance is clean, professional, and well-groomed.
· Assists the patients in accessing specialty care through making appointments, ensuring proper insurance referrals are in place, and assisting uninsured patients with affordable payment arrangements, when possible, including Women’s Wellness connection patients.
· Obtain pre-authorization when necessary.
· Informs patients of necessary restrictions/instructions before tests and/or appointments.
· Perform all other duties as assigned

Working environment/Physical activities:

Pay Range: $18-$22/hr
