UCI is a fiber conduit construction company, we are seeking experienced a Field Operations Supervisor - Construction to be a part of our team reporting to our Wixom, Michigan area shop location. This position will be responsible for visiting job sites and reviewing the work being done by our crews in the field. The Supervisor will ensure the crews are following company policy and meeting our customer’s expectations for efficiency and quality. The Wixom office will be seeing significant growth in 2025. This is a great opportunity to work for a successful and stable company that has been in business for almost 50 years. The Supervisor is expected to be a trouble-shooter and problem solver on the job site. Excellent communication skills are a must. This is a salaried, exempt position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrated ability to keep crews on schedule.
- Mentor the Foreman, assist Foreman when needed
- Assist crews with organizing materials, equipment, and labor.
- Working knowledge of telecommunications industry, engineering work prints, ability to understand and interpret construction documents.
- Management/supervisory experience in the telecommunications industry is necessary.
- Candidates must have both Aerial and Underground experience. Directional Bore Drilling is a plus.
- Experience working in both standard and high-risk areas, such as areas with live utilities, as well as knowledge of utility depths and placement.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Flexible and work under pressure to meet assigned deadlines.
- Detail oriented w/ strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to occasionally lift 50 lbs.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Valid CDLA w/air brake no restrictions is preferred, but not required
