Desirable Job Responsibilities
Deliver palletized products to UNFI's corporate and independent retail stores across various states in the United States.
Key Responsibilities:
- Comply with FMCSA regulations
- Unload and deliver products using equipment like tractor trailers, ramps, lift gates, pallet jacks, load bars, and other assisting devices
- Operate vehicle safely within UNFI guidelines, minimizing accidents, traffic violations, and public complaints
- Report any accident immediately to the Transportation Manager/Department
- Maintain vehicles well, safe, and secure, reporting defects promptly using DCVR form
- Pick up supplies and back hauls from vendors, completing related paperwork
- Resolve customer problems as necessary
Requirements and Qualifications
To excel in this role, you must meet the following requirements:
- Hold a valid medical card as prescribed by the Federal Motor Carrier Administration and a state-specific Commercial Driver's License (Class A or CDL)
- Pass a written exam and road test
- Have basic knowledge of DOT law and mandates and understanding of UNFI's safety standards
- Be at least 21 years old
- Demonstrate good judgment, as direct supervision may not always be available
