The Azure Cloud Administrator is responsible for managing and optimizing cloud infrastructure within Microsoft Azure, including the configuration and maintenance of virtual machines, storage, networking, and other Azure services. This role involves overseeing the deployment, monitoring, and security of cloud resources while ensuring efficient and scalable operations. Additionally, the Azure Cloud Administrator will manage Microsoft 365 services, including Entra, Exchange Online, Intune, Defender, Purview, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive, ensuring seamless integration, user access, and overall service health. The role also includes leading the migration of on-premises systems, applications, and data to the Azure cloud environment, ensuring minimal downtime, data integrity, and a smooth transition. The Azure Cloud Administrator will focus on maintaining system performance, security, and compliance within both Azure and M365 environments.
Duties and Responsibilities, including but not limited to:
· Implement and maintain Azure-based solutions for computing, storage, and networking to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
· Monitor and manage the health of cloud resources, ensuring uptime and system reliability.
· Manage and support Microsoft 365 services, including Entra, Exchange Online, Intune, Defender, Purview, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive.
· Implement and enforce security best practices across all Azure services, including network security, access control, and identity management.
· Lead and manage the migration of on-premises systems, applications, and data to the Azure cloud environment, ensuring minimal downtime, data integrity, and a smooth transition.
· Develop and implement migration strategies, planning resources and timelines to minimize impact on business operations.
· Provide post-migration support, including troubleshooting and optimizing cloud resources for performance and cost.
· Optimize cloud resources and services by implementing cost-management best practices and right-sizing cloud infrastructure based on usage patterns.
· Implement and manage disaster recovery solutions for critical workloads, ensuring data integrity and availability during disruptions.
· Regularly test and update disaster recovery and backup procedures.
· Provide Tier 2 technical support and troubleshooting for users and stakeholders related to Azure and Microsoft 365 services.
· Offer guidance and training on Azure and Microsoft 365 best practices to team members and end-users.
· Maintain detailed documentation for all Azure and Microsoft 365 configurations, procedures, and security settings.
Create knowledge base articles and internal resources to assist with troubleshooting and best practices.
· Travel to remote sites, when and where required, to assist with projects and/or troubleshooting.
· Work on the weekend or overtime on an occasional basis as business needs arise.
· Perform other duties as requested.
Experience Required
· Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in managing and administering Azure cloud environments, including Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Storage, Networking, and Azure Active Directory (Entra).
· Demonstrated experience in administering Microsoft 365 services with a focus on user management, integration, and service health.
· Experience in cloud migration projects, specifically moving on-premises infrastructure and applications to Azure, including managing the full migration lifecycle.
· Experience with managing Windows Server and Desktop in cloud environment including automated patching, site recovery
· Experience in documenting procedures, creating knowledge-sharing resources, and providing training to teams on Azure and Microsoft 365 best practices.
· Familiar with Azure networking
· Experience with cloud-based databases such as SQL server
· Intune Management and support and Endpoint Management
· Exposure to hybrid cloud environments and integrating on-premises systems with Azure.
· Microsoft Server 2016 build and troubleshoot
· Proficiency in hardware, software, and cloud solutions.
