General Overview of Role:
The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that products and processes comply with the company’s quality standards and contributing to developing new products to maintain and improve overall quality performance.

Main Responsibilities:
- Investigate non-conforming products or processes.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis on quality issues and assist in Corrective Actions; responsible for creating/managing Non-conformance reports (8D).
- Lead Management Review Board meetings (MRB).
- Investigate customer complaints and returns to identify root causes of failures and document findings.
- Monitors supplier quality performance and initiates programs to ensure suppliers meet Unger’s quality expectations.
- Involved in new product development projects as a quality lead.
- Lead risk assessment analysis.
- Create and revise quality documentation.
- Set up and implement internal audits.
- Identify opportunities for continual improvement and implement and oversee corrective actions when needed.
- Perform inspections and document test results accurately, identify defects, and provide recommendations for corrective actions
- Ability to lift 35 lbs
Desired Skills / Experience:
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years in a manufacturing environment, working in industrial or mechanical engineering or quality assurance functions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Understanding of Six Sigma and lean tools
- Knowledge of basic quality tools such as cause-and-effect diagrams, control charts, histograms, Pareto charts, and FMEA/Risk Analysis.
- Process-oriented way of thinking and possess a positive problem-solving approach to challenges.
- Demonstrate strong analytical skills, able to troubleshoot processes and examine quality problems to determine root causes.
- Assures adherence to quality standards by overseeing the continuous improvement process.
- Work effectively as part of a team.
- Must demonstrate strong organizational skills and be able to manage their own workload and priorities and complete numerous projects simultaneously.
- Proficient in the use of PC’s, Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to generate reports and document results
- Intermediate to Expert level of experience in Word and Excel
- Intermediate level of experience in PowerPoint
Desired Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Travel:
- Overnight travel: approximately 10%
