Unicare is currently seeking a Full Time Dental Assistant to assist the Front and Back Office in our Los Angeles Health Center located in the Westlake neighborhood of Central L.A.. The Dental Assistant is responsible for administering the day-to-day activities of the dental clinic, including maintenance of patient records, scheduling of patients, accounts receivable, presentation of financial treatment plan options, recall/recare system, marketing, maintaining appearance and order of the dental office, and assisting the dentist in the back office as needed.

Requirements:
- MUST be bilingual (fluent English and Spanish)
- Dental front office experience
- CPR certification
- X-Ray certification
- Ability to learn and use electronic health records
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with integrity
- Processing patient insurance
- Collecting payments
- Managing patient records
- Entering appropriate data into the Electronic Health Records (EHR) as necessary
- Scheduling and confirming appointments
- Determining sliding scale program eligibility and pay scale type
- Presenting fees to patients
- Prepare and maintain dental instruments, supplies and equipment
- Collect and record patient health histories
- Take and record patient vital signs
- Preparation of dental materials, cements, amalgam, composites, impression materials, etc.
- Dental charting
- Taking dental x-rays
- Applying topical fluoride treatments
- Placing topical medications
- Pouring impressions to make stone and plaster molds

- Ten (10) days of Vacation, use subject to a 6-month waiting period
- Six (6) days of Sick, use subject to a 90-day waiting period.
