About This Position
Essential Functions include but are not limited to:
General Ledger Management
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely recording of transactions and reconciliations of discrepancies while collaborating with internal departments to address accounting issues.
- Lead the month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting and coordination with internal departments for necessary data.
- Monitor and manage corporate cash balances and accounts receivable collections.
- Manage Unico management office rent payments and reimbursements.
- Review and approve invoices within the payable system.
- Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement and statement of cashflow for Unico’s operating companies.
- Prepare and review monthly operational reports for senior leadership, highlighting budget variances and collaborating with department heads for follow-up.
- Assist in preparing the consolidated financial statements, including supporting schedules for intercompany eliminations, debt roll-forward, investment roll-forward, non-controlling interest roll-forward, related party fee analysis, and others as needed.
- Support quarterly board materials preparation.
- Oversee and review quarterly corporate loan covenant calculations and ensure timely local and state tax filings.
- Contribute to the preparation of the annual corporate budget and mid-year reforecast.
- Serve as a liaison with external auditors, ensuring timely responses to inquiries and tracking key deadlines.
- Assist in preparing annual financial statements, schedules, and footnotes.
- Support preparation of Federal and State tax return requests.
- Prepare or assist with technical accounting memos for new guidance, as needed.
- Contribute to the development and documentation of business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.

Skills
- Ability to balance competing priorities and manage tight deadlines.
- Experience leading and mentoring a team of accountants, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and alignment with organizational goals.
- Understanding of consolidated financial reporting, general ledger management, account reconciliations and month-end/year-end closing processes.
- Ability to prepare, review, and analyze financial statements and management reports.
- Strong organizational skills, reliable, autonomous and ability to prioritize multiple requests.
- Ability to develop training programs and provide guidance on accounting best practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with senior management, auditors, and other departments.
- Ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Provides excellent internal and external customer service
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or related field required
- 7 years in accounting or finance, with 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- CPA preferred
