What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Receivable Associate position at Unicorr Packaging Group?
Job Summary:
The individual will be responsible for cash postings, billing, and assist with handling the credit and collection efforts on behalf of the company. This is a corporate position that provides support for all locations.
Responsibilities:
- Perform daily billing, issue credits, and re-bills, includes GSA invoice process, freight, and miscellaneous billing
- Process and post all cash daily to include lockbox and ACH/wire remittance deposits to the appropriate customer account, ensuring batches are balanced.
- Analyze customer accounts at the time of cash application for any skipped or partial pays.
- Maintains spreadsheets for the purpose of ensuring cash and billing balances for all locations on a daily and weekly basis, reconciling monthly.
- Make A/R inquiry calls, while remaining confident and assertive, on customer accounts logging conversations and actions in the system.
- Research customer short pays and deductions by utilizing customer service, and/or the sales rep, or by contacting the customer directly.
- Process credit card orders through the vendor program on-line.
- Consult management whenever there is any question about the proper procedure to follow.
- Data support for Month end closing and reporting including preparation and entry of journal entries for general ledger and related financial statements; i.e., intercompany write-offs, intercompany sales/purchases.
- Provides technical expertise and direction to staff and administration regarding billing issues and related system activities for the purpose of conveying pertinent information regarding the operations and ensuring compliance with established policies, practices and company requirements.
- Assists with special projects, as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma and 2-4 years of previous experience preferred
- Ability to work well independently and within a team environment, excellent organizational skills and attention to detail a must
- Ability to work with set targets/objectives
- Well organized and self-directed, high integrity and honesty.
- Outstanding customer service and communications skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office products
- Customer focused, with good problem solving skills.
