Job Description
- Ensures proper conveyances set up to sort and distribute incoming bags.
- Reads and verifies the city and flight number for every bag to ensure correct loading of customer bags.
- Organizes and prioritizes baggage load for delivery to the proper aircraft for loading.
- Ensures compliance with all TSA, DOT, FAA, OSHA safety rules, regulations, and applicable laws.
- Accepts responsibility for the safety of the scanner and associated equipment.
- Scans each bag as it arrives at the bag room. Forwards and receives bags to/from TSA for processing.
- Ensures appropriate attention is paid to priority items. Handles customer interaction in an efficient, effective, and professional manner.
- Performs other related duties as assigned within the appropriate skill and experience capabilities expected for this position.
Qualifications
- Ability to communicate effectively in English is required.
- Must have Valid In-State Driver's License.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Ability to pass up to a 10-year background check.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have the authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
- Must complete ramp and SIDA training to obtain airport authority identification security.
- Must be able to lift/carry / push/pull and move items of 70 pounds and/or more regularly and repetitively lift weights of 40 to 50 pounds on raised surfaces.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $20.18 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week
