- Responsible for the routing, loading, and unloading of inbound and outbound air freight shipments to and from the proper destinations.
- Interact with customers to receive and provide cargo shipments, collect fees, and process payments and other transactions related to those shipments in a courteous, accurate and timely manner.
- Prepares and examines bill of lading and weigh items to determine shipping charges and prepare freight bills.
- Notifies customers of any delays in departure or arrival of shipments.
- Always maintains safety and security of the cargo facility and complies with safety procedures and station policies.
- May also perform Ramp Agent duties as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned within the appropriate skill and experience capabilities expected for this position.
- Able to work in extreme conditions, such as hot and cold weather, as well as small spaces
- Eligible to receive appropriate security clearances after satisfactory completion of a criminal background check.
- Familiarity with basic computer programs to assist with record-keeping and baggage routing
- Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Flexible schedule allowing work during nights, weekends, and holidays. Some shifts may require extended hours to meet business needs.
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull and move items up to 70 pounds or more on a regular basis.
- Must be able to observe, judge distances, identify surroundings, hazards, aircrafts, and equipment.
- Must be able to communicate by radio and other devices.
