Process Improvement Intern

We are seeking a Process Improvement Intern in Yadkinville, NC.

Project:  Vision System Metrics Tracking & Performance Evaluation 

 Join our dynamic team this summer and gain valuable experience with cutting-edge technology! We are looking for an enthusiastic intern to help optimize our automated vision inspection system. 

What does a Process Improvement Intern do at Unifi?

• Develop a new measurement system to track and quantify failed inspection attempts from the vision system.
• Gather and analyze data related to inspection system performance.
• Categorize failed inspection attempts to understand the root cause, including time spent in the manufacturing plant to gain insight through observation.
• Provide data analysis, explore potential factors like yarn color insights, vision system errors, and sensitivity issues.
• Contribute to improvement initiatives, such as procedural changes or operator training, based on findings.
• Documentation of key findings and project updates, including communicating improvement efforts and recommendations.

Am I qualified to be a Process Improvement Intern?

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering: Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical, or related field of study
• Rising Junior or Senior preferred
• Must possess the following traits: strong initiative, attention to detail, excellent communicator, mechanical aptitude, hands-on, analytical, and a natural problem solver
• Process improvement, Six Sigma, and Statistics courses are a plus 
• Available May-August 2025 (subject to school calendar)
