Job Description:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Record Technician to serve as a Care Coordinator in support of our military personnel. This position requires proficiency in utilizing web-based electronic data systems, specifically the Medical Operational Data System (MODS) and Medical Electronic Data for Care History and Readiness Tracking (MEDCHART), to ensure Service Members (SM) remain Fully Medically Ready (FMR).
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend Medical Readiness Events, Soldier Readiness Program (SRP), and medical clinics to provide direct coordination for Service Members.
- Track and manage medical and dental appointments for Service Members to ensure they remain FMR.
- Communicate with unit personnel to ensure Service Members attend medical appointments and submit required follow-up documentation.
- Collaborate with TRICARE and the Defense Health Agency (DHA) to obtain prior authorization for medical treatment as needed.
- Coordinate with the Medical Detachment Patient Administrator (PAD) officer to ensure results of medical appointments, referrals, and tests are documented accurately in the Outpatient Treatment Record (OTR).
- Maintain Service Members’ medical records in compliance with Army Regulation (AR) 40-66, The Privacy Act of 1974, and HIPAA standards and guidelines.

Requirements:Qualifications:
- Experience with medical records management and familiarity with Army regulations is a plus and health standards.

- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures, along with experience working with TRICARE and DHA.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to privacy standards in accordance with HIPAA and Army regulations.
