Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Lineperson to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing various telecommunications systems. This role requires a strong understanding of heavy equipment operation and operation of a bucket truck and the ability to work with various tools and technologies in a safe and efficient manner. The Lineperson will play a crucial role in ensuring reliable service delivery and infrastructure integrity.
Duties
- Operate heavy equipment such as bucket trucks to access overhead lines safely.
- Install, maintain, and repair telecommunications lines, including coaxial cable and fiber optic cables.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for installation and repair tasks.
- Conduct inspections of existing infrastructure to identify maintenance needs or potential issues.
- Conduct fiber and coax splicing to ensure optimal connectivity and performance.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects while adhering to safety standards.
Skills
- Proficient in heavy equipment operation, particularly bucket trucks.
- Strong telecommunication skills, including experience with coax and fiber is preferred.
- Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in installation and maintenance tasks.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in all aspects of work performed.
