Position Overview
We are looking for a Shop Supervisor to join our team!
Key Responsibilities
- Assumes responsibility for organizing, directing, and overseeing the correct and timely completion of shipping functions.
- Organizes, schedules, and prioritizes shipping functions.
- Coordinate, communicate with multiple departments across several buildings to procure all delivery materials to ensure we meet our delivery goals.
- Oversees entire trucking fleet and communicates all issues to leadership. Serve as a liaison between driver’s needs and the shipping logistics manager.
- Gathers all related data relevant to the loading of the fleet to ensure we maximize capacity of our trucking dimensions. Works closely with shipping logistics manager to plan daily delivery schedules.
- Supervise, following all safety standards, the loading of all trucks according to the delivery schedule. Inform management of any significant problems or concerns.
- Assumes responsibility for ensuring that shipping functions are conducted in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
- Ensures that established shipping procedures and instructions are followed.
- Ensures quality and safety standards are met.
- Ensures that deliverable deadlines are met.
- Ensures that work area is clean, secure, and well maintained.
- Reviews and updates shipping policies and procedures regularly.
- Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining good communication, coordination, and working relations with Company personnel and with management.
- Assists, directs, and supports shipping personnel as needed. Assists the Shipping Logistics Manager in evaluating the progress and performance of loaders. Provides suggestions for improved performance.
- Keeps the Shipping Logistics Manager informed of area activities and of any significant concerns. Identifies problems and provides suggestions.
- Coordinates inter-departmental transfers across several buildings.
- Attends meetings as required.
- Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
- Updates production department with urgent delivery material needs.
- Completes special projects as assigned.
- Assists in other areas as needed.
- Shipping functions are completed in accordance with Company standards and procedures. Procedures are reviewed and updated as needed.
- Established shipping and quality standards are met or exceeded. Shipping is efficiently scheduled and well-coordinated with related area functions.
- Effective communication and coordination exist with Company personnel and with management. Assistance, direction, and support are provided as needed.
- Loaders are efficient, effective, and properly trained. Shipping Logistics Manager is assisted with performance evaluations.
- This position requires an onsite presence at our Port Washington, NY office.
