What are the responsibilities and job description for the Planner- Planning and Urban Design position at Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City?
All positions require that the applicant be a resident of Wyandotte county or willing to relocate within (12) months from the date of hire. As a condition of employment all employees must pass a post offer physical examination and drug screen. And submit proof of identity and employment eligibility.
JOB DESCRIPTION :
Duties include a broad range of planning, urban design, zoning administration and development review in urban, inner-urban, suburban and rural settings. A major function of this position will involve the use of the latest version of ARC View. ARC Info experience is desired. Neighborhood planning skills and professional design skills is highly preferred.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor's Degree in Planning, Landscape Architecture, Urban Planning or a related field and two years of experience performing professional level planning and activities, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Graduate Degree and or relevant work experience is preferred. Knowledge of urban planning and community development theories, principles and techniques, as well as of city planning and zoning provisions and standards is mandatory. Excellent oral and written communication skills is required, Bilingual in Spanish / English is preferred. AICP certification is highly desirable.
Salary Range : 26.74-$35.76 / hr.
