What are the responsibilities and job description for the Regional Sales Representative position at Unified Group Services?
This position will focus on bringing in more clients via broker relationships, whether with an individual or group brokerage firm. Currently, Unified has a presence in the broker market, mostly in Indiana, and we want to increase our market share in other states. This is a very competitive industry, and this person needs to be a self-starter by initiating contact with new brokers and building those relationships. To be successful, this person needs to have a competitive drive that can accept rejection, learn why it was rejected, and then be able to move on to another opportunity. This person must also be self-disciplined enough to manage their own time, set up contact meetings, arrange presentations, etc., to succeed. Unified has a reputation for great customer service, but in some broker firms, there is a perception that Unified will eliminate the middleman (the broker) and connect directly with the customer. Although we have clients direct, and on a rare occasion, that has occurred, that is not Unified's intent. We have been able to reshape that image with our current Sales Rep, so it may not exist in other regions. Therefore, this person will need to establish a partnership with these individuals and or companies, assuring them that we intend to work together in the best interest of the customer. Training will be provided by the president of the company and our current sales rep. Once the employees have developed strategies and confidence, they will work independently most of the time. There may be meetings and other commitments that the employee will be required to attend in the office at Unified, but Unified would cover that travel cost. Occasionally, this person will be required to travel to broker meetings, golf outings, conferences, etc., to solidify these business relationships. Leads will be provided; however, they will not be an all-inclusive list. Hunting and prospecting for additional sources of connections is always encouraged and required. A sell cycle in the TPA arena can range on average from 9 months to 1 year.
