Job Description Unified Industries Incorporated (UII) has an immediate opportunity for a Quality Assurance Specialist to support the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) Office of Quality Assurance, Internal Compliance, and Oversight (QICO). The successful candidate will assist the Quality Management Team (QMT) staff and play a vital role in the independent review of WMATA programs to ensure compliance with internal WMATA standards and policies and applicable federal, state, and local regulations, with the objective of safeguarding the mission success of the agency. Work across all WMATA departments as they build and deploy centralized document repository through their MetroDocs Quality Management System (QMS).
Job Responsibilities The Quality Assurance Specialist candidate will be responsible for supporting the following: Enforce revision of Policy Instructions and governing documents in accordance with the required revision periodicity and enforce implementation of document control guidelines. Proofing and evaluating policies other documentation for QMS reviews Drafting technical documents collaborating with subject matter experts to refine documentation as needed. Gather and analyze data from various sources to inform policy decisions and it to advise stakeholders. Clearly articulate complex policies both verbally and in writing to diverse stakeholder audiences. Evaluate information objectively and identify potential impacts of different policy options. Identify issues and develop effective solutions within policy frameworks. Ensure accuracy and thoroughness when drafting and reviewing policies. Accurately update QMT trackers to record document receipt, review completion/return, and summation of weekly progress by assigned Organizations within the prescribed time limits. Ensure that all updates comply with internal procedures and work instructions. Perform other ad hoc assignments assigned by QMT management to address Quality or Metro request
Desired Qualifications/Education Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business, Urban Planning, Quality Assurance, Project Management, or a related field from an accredited University Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality assurance/quality control and/or infrastructure projects or In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, a high school diploma and 5 years of progressively responsible project/program and business experience in a Quality Assurance, industrial, manufacturing, or reliability engineering environment. Understanding of the policy lifecycle, including policy drafting, review, and implementation processes. A strong understanding of maintenance and operations environments will be considered. Proficiency in Excel, Word, Adobe Acrobat, and DocuSign preferred
Desired Experience Skilled problem solver, able to identify when processes do not conform with applicable standards and propose alternative solutions. Skilled at communicating effectively both orally and in writing to varying levels of management within the organization by clearly articulating the findings, concerns or issues identified in an internal review of the quality assurance process. Skilled at using foundational quality knowledge during stakeholder document review, meetings, and day-to-day interactions related to processes, decision making, and to troubleshoot potential issues. Building relationships and collaborating effectively with stakeholders across various levels. Flexibility to adjust to changing circumstances and priorities within the policy landscape.
