Job Description Unified Industries Incorporated (UII) has an immediate opportunity for a Junior Auditor with an understanding of transit operations, engineering, and maintenance practices to support the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) Department of Quality Assurance, Internal Compliance, and Oversight (QICO). The successful candidate will support the QICO Quality Assurance Team to perform process and compliance audits in areas such as: • Automatic Train Control, structures, track, radio communication, facilities, and power systems. • Bus and Rail vehicle operation, maintenance, engineering, and training. QICO is an internal management function that partners with other WMATA departments to provide an objective review. QICO’s Internal Review (IR) process is designed to provide Metro senior management with an assessment of the current state of rail operations and maintenance and to identify the necessary actions to address any concerns. QICO develops relevant review activities by identifying and assessing risks, reviewing documentation, observing processes, and interviewing key personnel. Review findings and required actions are based on the risk rating, which ranges from “Insignificant” to “High”.

Job Responsibilities The Junior Auditor candidate will be responsible for supporting the following Quality Assurance Program activities: • Assure the audited areas comply with established processes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. • Assess the performance of various systems, identifying potential risks and areas for improvement. • Assure adherence to regulations, as well as industry standards and documented processes to maintain high levels of safety and efficiency. • Foster strong working relationships with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to facilitate effective communication and cooperation. • Identify and assess risks associated with the areas of improvement and develop strategies to mitigate these risks. • Draft and prepare detailed audit reports that outline findings, recommendations, and corrective actions. • Develop corrective action plans to address identified issues, ensuring continuous improvement.

Desired Qualifications/Education • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field from an accredited University. • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance/quality control and/or infrastructure projects • In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, a high school diploma and 8 years of progressively responsible experience in project/program management and engineering, specifically in quality assurance, industrial, manufacturing, and reliability engineering, as well as a strong understanding of maintenance and operational environments, will be considered.

Desired Experience: • Experience in auditing, particularly in safety and compliance. • Proficient in implementing risk management practices to ensure the safety and reliability of railway operations. • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint). • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills to interface with executive, senior, and mid-level management. • A self-starter who requires limited oversight and can work on and deliver multiple tasks simultaneously. • Experience in both roadway and rail station contexts is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year

  • SME in Bus/Rail QA/QC: 5 years (Preferred)
  • QC Auditor: 5 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • ASQC Certification (Preferred)

Ability to Relocate:

Salary : $90,000 - $105,000
