Administrative Assistant
The Unified Jewish Congregation of Baton Rouge (UJCBR) is seeking a detail-oriented, proactive, and organized Administrative Assistant to support communications and operations. This role will serve as a vital part of our team, ensuring the smooth functioning of daily administrative tasks, communication efforts, and event coordination, while upholding the values and mission of our congregation.
Key Responsibilities
Communications
- Draft and distribute weekly and monthly communications using email marketing tools.
- Create visually appealing materials for digital and print communications using Canva.
- Proactively plan and execute communications regarding events and holidays to ensure timely and effective outreach.
- Assist in executing the synagogue’s social media strategy, including scheduling posts, engaging with the community online, and maintaining a consistent brand presence.
Event Coordination
- Coordinate logistics for events, including setup, communications, and follow-up.
- Support volunteer coordination for events, including recruitment, scheduling, and providing necessary resources and guidance.
Office Management
- Maintain order and stock of paper goods, materials and supplies
Administrative Support
- Manage and maintain the synagogue’s member database and cemetery database, ensuring information is accurate and up-to-date.
- Oversee calendar management for the synagogue, Rabbi, and Executive Director, ensuring proper scheduling and communication.
- Provide reception duties, including welcoming visitors, answering phone calls, and responding to general inquiries.
- Assist with administrative support for fundraising efforts, including tracking donor engagement, donor acknowledgment, maintaining records, and drafting communications to support campaigns.
Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in email marketing tools.
- Experience with database management and social media platforms.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience in event coordination, volunteer management, and/or fundraising support is a plus.
Hours
This is a part time position requiring on site work from 9AM – 4PM Tuesday through Thursday, 9AM – 2PM Mondays and Fridays. Position is on on-site role. Onsite support is also needed during the holidays of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 31 per week
