The job of Information Systems Technician is done for the purpose / s of installing and maintaining hardware and systems / application software; providing technical support to all district employees; and resolving district office or school site operational issues. USD 305 is a Windows and ChromeOS environment. Employee must have good communications skills and work well with others.
Responsibilities :
- Assesses malfunctions of hardware and / or software applications (server or local machine resident) for the purpose of determining appropriate actions to maintain computer operations.
- Assists other personnel for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
- Identifies equipment, supplies and materials needed for the purpose of maintaining availability of required items and completing jobs efficiently.
- Inspects information systems and network equipment requiring specialized computer repair and trouble shooting skills for the purpose of identifying and verifying repair needs.
- Installs software products on a variety of hardware platforms for the purpose of upgrading and improving school system computers and computer labs.
- Repairs Information Systems , peripherals, network equipment and software for the purpose of maintaining computers and computer network equipment in a safe and functional operating condition.
- Supports the installation of new Information Systems and networking equipment (e.g. wiring, computer set-up, software configuration, etc.) for the purpose of upgrading and improving computer systems.
- Transports a variety of items (e.g. equipment, supplies, etc.) for the purpose of providing materials at job site or transporting equipment for repair.
- Punctual and regular attendance is an essential function of the position.
Salary : Commensurate with education and experience
