We are seeking a highly motivated Application Engineer to develop innovative solutions for both internal combustion engine (ICE) exhaust systems and battery electric vehicle (BEV) applications.
In this role, you will primarily focus on responding to customer requests, which involves working on catalytic converter mounting mats as well as insulation and material solutions for battery systems in electric vehicles. By providing technical support to customers and sales engineers (including technical documentation and assistance with drawings), you will also lead the creation of technical reports, specifications, etc. to support the commercialization of new technologies and product lines. Additionally, you will supervise on-site field testing to ensure quality and compliance.
Your responsibilities further include processing technical service requests, compiling reports, and maintaining thorough documentation. You will build and maintain strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders, oversee the sample management process to deliver tailored product samples, and offer after-sales support by troubleshooting failures and identifying root causes for continuous improvement. Furthermore, you will develop and present technical training materials to educate both customers and internal teams on catalytic converter mounting materials and battery insulation technologies. By applying adaptive coaching methods, you will enhance team communication, goal alignment, and problem-solving capabilities. Finally, you will collaborate with production teams to optimize manufacturing processes, improving material efficiency and product quality.

Responsibilities:
- Collaborating with internal teams and external partners
- Supporting product development and project management with the commercialization of new system introductions and existing Business
- Providing technical solutions and support for customer needs and field sales
- Assisting in the design and evaluation of optimized and customer-specific systems
- Troubleshoot manufacturing issues
- Ensuring clear communication and efficient problem-solving
- Must be comfortable providing technical presentations to large groups
- Travel throughout the European continent to visit customers and provide technical support (Job requires ~25 – 40% travel)
Qualifications:
- Engineering degree (automotive engineering, industrial engineering or similar; master’s degree is a plus)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in development or project management (automotive or similar industry)
- Strong technical expertise
- Proficiency in Office tools, especially Excel (VBA preferred) and PowerPoint
- Customer-oriented, polite, and positive attitude in written, phone, and face-to-face communication
- Fluent written and spoken German is mandatory
- Proficiency in written and spoken English to communicate with the global team
